At North Point Periodontics, we make sure our computer system takes care of the technicalities so that our patients our provided with the most up-to-date information available.
For state-of-the-art periodontal care in Alpharetta Georgia, you can trust the dedicated periodontists and staff at North Point Periodontics for top quality periodontal services. Our practice offers the latest periodontal technology including Digital Radiography. Our computerized digital radiography equipment uses a standard x-ray generator as its radiation source. An intra oral sensor that is placed in the mouth collects the image. The “zoom” capabilities allow our patients to view localized areas for a better understanding of their diagnoses. Digital radiography reduces radiation exposure buy 80%-90%. Our periodontists use this advanced technology to evaluate the level and density of bone supporting the teeth and to assist in the detection of cavities between the teeth that may not be visible in the mouth.
In addition to digital radiography, our practice also utilizes the most advanced C.T. scanning techniques to improve patient care. In certain cases, C.T. scans will allow for placement of periodontal implants in oral locations that were previously thought to be unsuitable.
North Point Periodontics also employs advanced oral scanning technology with our use of the iTero intraoral scanner. Our intra oral scanner seamlessly integrates data from our CBCT unit and can generate surgical guides to aide in precise placement of dental implants or Computer Guided Implant Surgery.
Laser Trained Periodontist
Dr. Kirkland is a Millennium Laser certified Periodontist. LANAP and LAPIP surgical procedures are offered at North Point Periodontics using the PerioLase MVP-7 dental laser as an alternative to “scalpel” surgery. The laser fiber is inserted between the gum and the tooth or implant, laser light energy targets the source of the infection without hurting or removing any healthy gum tissue. This helps to slow or stop attachment loss and decrease pocket depth, and allows the body to recover from the chronic infection without the need for scalpel or sutures. The gums are not cut to reduce pocket depth.
