Speaker: Linda Rhoades, RDH, BS
Linda Rhoades obtained her AAS in Dental Hygiene from Prairie State College in Illinois and her BS in Applied Science from Madonna University in Michigan. She started her career as a Certified Dental Assistant and has been a practicing hygienist for over 36 years. Linda was an adjunct faculty member for the Dental Hygiene Program at Georgia Perimeter College while practicing with North Point Periodontics. She has practiced hygiene in Illinois, Michigan, Georgia and Florida. She spent six years in the Air Force Reserves as a Dental Specialist and has cleaned a four star General’s teeth who wrote a commending letter to her supervising dentist! She is a member of the ADHA and served two years as the President of her local component in Illinois. Linda is certified in the administration of local anesthetic from the University of Florida. She recently taught at AS4U Career Center, a dental assisting school located inside A Smile For You dental centers. She currently is teaching dental hygiene students at Fortis College. Linda lives in, The Villages, Florida with her husband Marc, a retired dentist and her crazy Cairn Terrier. She loves spending time with her grandchildren, scrapbooking and gardening.
Speaker: Virginia Kirkland, DMD, MS
Dr. Kirkland has provided periodontal care to Alpharetta residents since 1998. She earned her undergraduate degree at the Medical College of Georgia in 1987 in the field of Dental Hygiene. She practiced dental hygiene within the field of periodontics for four years prior to beginning her dental education. She received her dental degree from the University of Louisville, Kentucky in 1995. A postgraduate residency completed at the University of Louisville in 1998 allowed her to develop greater expertise in periodontal treatment. Dr. Kirkland received her Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology in 1998 from the University of Louisville.
Dr. Kirkland is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is also a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, Georgia Society of Periodontists, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Northern District Dental Society, and the Hinman Dental Society, just to name a few. Dr. Kirkland has been published in professional dental Journals for research conducted in the fields of implant dentistry and guided bone regeneration.
Dr. Kirkland resides in Alpharetta with her husband Dr. Brett Gluck (Alpharetta orthodontist) and their two children, Carter and Kyle.
